Set up ABM stages and intent tags
Define your own ABM stages with the conditions that move an account forward (LinkedIn, ChatGPT Ads, AI answers, website and CRM deals), add intent tags from campaign themes and pages, and send both to HubSpot.
IntentBid puts every account in an ABM stage based on what the company did, and adds intent tags for what it's interested in. Both are yours to define. Open Account engagement → Stages & intent settings.
Every account is re-staged with each refresh, and the stage goes to your CRM daily.
How stages work
- Stages are listed lowest first. An account sits in the highest stage whose conditions it meets, so it can skip stages.
- Each stage has up to 6 conditions and you choose Any condition (one is enough) or All conditions (every one must be met).
- You can have up to 10 stages. Accounts that meet none are Not reached.
The default stages
| Stage | Met when (any of) |
|---|---|
| Identified | 1+ LinkedIn impression or 1+ website visit in 90 days |
| Aware | 10+ LinkedIn impressions or 1+ visit from an AI answer in 30 days |
| Interested | 3+ LinkedIn engagements, 1+ LinkedIn click or 1+ ChatGPT Ads click in 30 days |
| Considering | 2+ website visits or 5+ pages read in 30 days |
| Selecting | 1+ high-intent page visit in 30 days, or an open deal in the CRM |
| Won | A won deal in the CRM |
Edit stages
- Rename a stage by typing in its name field.
- Reorder with ↑ and ↓. Order matters: higher stages win.
- Add a condition with + Condition, then pick the signal, the minimum (at least) and the window (7 days, 30 days, 90 days or lifetime).
- Choose Any condition or All conditions for the stage.
- + Add stage adds a new one; × removes a stage or a condition.
- Click Save settings. Accounts are re-staged on the next view.
Reset to defaults brings back the six default stages.
The signals you can use:
| Signal | Comes from |
|---|---|
| LinkedIn impressions, clicks, engagements | LinkedIn's company report |
| ChatGPT Ads clicks | Clicks identified on your site |
| Visits from AI answers | ChatGPT, Perplexity and other AI assistants, identified on your site |
| Website visits, Pages read | The website script |
| High-intent page visits | Pricing, demo and contact pages |
| Open deals in CRM, Won deals in CRM | HubSpot |
Tips for conditions
- Keep impressions for the first stages only. They measure your spend, not the account's interest.
- Use short windows (7 or 30 days) for late stages, so an account that went quiet drops back.
- Put high-intent page visits and open deals in your last stage before Won.
- Use All conditions only where you want precision, for example a high-intent visit and a LinkedIn engagement.

Add intent tags
Intent tags say what an account is interested in. There are two ways to get them.
From campaign names, no setup
Put a theme in a LinkedIn or ChatGPT Ads campaign name and every account that engages with that campaign gets the tag:
- Square brackets:
ABM | [Security] | Q4gives Security - A hashtag:
Retargeting #pricinggives Pricing - Intent:
Intent: NetSuitegives NetSuite
In settings
- Click + Add intent tag.
- Type the theme, for example Security.
- Add page words, separated by commas, for example
/security, soc2, gdpr. Accounts that read a page whose address contains one of them get the tag. - Tick the campaigns (LinkedIn or ChatGPT) that carry the theme. Campaigns appear once LinkedIn Ads or ChatGPT Ads are connected.
- Click Save settings.
You can add up to 30 tags. In Account engagement, filter the Accounts view by tag, and use the Stages view to see which intents move accounts forward.
Send stages to your CRM
With HubSpot connected, IntentBid writes to company records every day:
| HubSpot property | Content |
|---|---|
| IntentBid ABM stage | The stage name |
| IntentBid ABM score | 0–100 |
| IntentBid LinkedIn impressions (30 days) | Impressions at the company |
| IntentBid LinkedIn clicks (30 days) | Clicks |
| IntentBid LinkedIn engagements (30 days) | Engagements |
| IntentBid engagement rate (%) | Engagements ÷ impressions |
| IntentBid intent tags | The account's tags |
| IntentBid last campaign engaged | The last campaign it clicked |
In HubSpot, only companies that already exist in the CRM are updated. Deals come back the other way for stage conditions and for pipeline attribution. The CRM box at the bottom of the settings shows how many deals were read; Refresh deals now reads them again.
FAQ
Why is an account in a lower stage than I expected?
Its activity has moved out of the condition's window. With a 30-day window, a company that read your pricing page 40 days ago no longer counts as Selecting.
Can I set a stage by hand?
No. Stages always follow the conditions, so they stay consistent and comparable. Change the conditions instead.
Do ChatGPT Ads clicks count for a company?
Yes, when the click's visit can be identified as that company on your website. ChatGPT Ads don't report by company themselves.
Does changing stages cost anything?
No. Stages, tags and reporting never count against your plan's limits.
