Build a target account list with the TAL Generator
Enter your website, regions and the roles you sell to. Get matching companies and position counts, then use them on Microsoft, Google and HubSpot.
The TAL Generator builds a target account list (TAL) from three things: your website, where your buyers are and the roles you sell to. IntentBid scans the market for companies that match your ICP and counts the decision makers at each one. The result is a list of companies with position counts, for example 2 Directors · 1 C-level. It contains no names or contact details.
Each list can become your target accounts, a Google Ads audience, a Microsoft Ads campaign and a company list in HubSpot.
Build a list
Open TAL Generator in the menu. To start another list later, click + New list.
- 1 · Your website: enter your site's address. You don't need
https, and IntentBid fixes small typos for you. - 2 · Where are your buyers?: tick UK, EU and/or US.
- 3 · Who do you want to reach?: tick the seniority levels (Owners & founders, C-level, VPs, Directors & heads, Managers, Senior specialists) and the departments, such as Finance, Marketing, Sales or Information Technology. If you leave every department unticked, all departments are included.
- 4 · How big a TAL do you need?: pick a size in decision makers. Each option shows the most it can cost (then max … credits). On the free trial, the smallest option is Starter: about 10 companies (30 decision makers).
- Optional: open List name and automations to name the list and choose whether to Create an audience and add new companies to it automatically and Add the companies to Target accounts. Both are on by default.
- Click Find your ICP. IntentBid reads your site, scans the market for companies that buy what you sell, and counts the matching decision makers in your regions. When it's done, Estimate shows how many people match, broken down by level.
- Under How many people to find, choose how far to go, and tick Refresh every month and add new people if you want the list kept fresh.
- Click Build the list. You can leave the page while it runs, and companies arrive within a few minutes.
Credits
- Scanning and counting costs a fixed amount, shown on the button (from … credits). Bigger TALs scan more of the market.
- Building the list is charged per 100 people found.
- Credits are taken only after the search, and only for what was found. If the count fails, unused credits come back.
- Companies already in your other lists are skipped, so every new list brings new companies.
Work with the list
The list shows each company with its People, Positions, Main role, Tier (1:1, 1:few, 1:many), Owner and Note.
- Edit the tier, owner, note or company name right in the table.
- Tick ✕ to remove a company.
- Paste websites into Add companies (websites, one per line or comma separated).
- Click Save changes. Changes go to Target accounts, and to the audience and HubSpot if those are linked, automatically.
The page shows the first 100 companies. Click Companies CSV to download all of them.
Use the list on Microsoft and Google
| Button | What happens |
|---|---|
| Microsoft · these companies → | Opens a new Microsoft Ads campaign with this list as the company targeting. See Create your first Microsoft Ads campaign. |
| Google · retarget visitors → | Creates a company audience and opens a Google image campaign for people from these companies after they visit your site. |
| Google · reach new → | Creates an ICP segment in Google Ads to reach similar buyers before they visit. |
| Create audience / Open audience | Makes, or opens, the audience for this list. |
| Add to Target accounts | Adds every company to Target accounts. |
| ✦ Find lookalike companies | Finds 25, 50, 100 or 250 new companies like these. |
The Google options are explained in Company audiences, ICP segments and lookalikes.
Send the companies to HubSpot
With HubSpot connected (Connections → CRM and team alerts → HubSpot), click Send to HubSpot. The list's companies go to HubSpot as target accounts. After the first send, the button reads Sync to HubSpot. To keep HubSpot up to date without clicking, tick Sync to HubSpot automatically under the list and click Save.
List settings
Under the list, you can turn Auto-add to the audience, Auto-add to Target accounts, Refresh monthly and Sync to HubSpot automatically on or off, then click Save. Delete list removes the list but keeps its audience and target accounts.
FAQ
Can I see the names or e-mails of the decision makers?
No. The TAL Generator shows companies and how many people hold which positions. Contact details aren't available in the TAL Generator.
Why did a new list skip companies I expected?
Companies already in your other lists are skipped. Add them by website under Add companies if you want them in this list too.
How do I use the list on ChatGPT Ads?
ChatGPT Ads don't accept company lists. Use the list on Microsoft Ads or Google Ads instead, and use ChatGPT ads for the buyer questions your ICP asks.
