How to use the result
- Treat 90–110% as on pace. Outside that, fix bids, budgets or targeting before the gap compounds.
- Know the platform's daily rules. Google Ads can spend up to twice the average daily budget on a day and no more than 30.4 times it in a month. ChatGPT ads average over a seven-day week.
- Don't rescue a flight with bids alone. Doubling bids to catch up usually buys worse inventory; extend the flight or move budget.
Questions
Straight answers.
What does 'over-pacing' mean?
Spend is ahead of plan for this point in the flight. At the current rate the budget runs out early or the flight overspends.
Why does Google spend more than my daily budget?
Google Ads lets a campaign spend up to twice its average daily budget on a single day, but no more than 30.4 times the daily budget in a month.
How often should I check pacing?
Daily in the first week and after any change, then two or three times a week.
Does this work for lifetime budgets?
Yes. Enter the lifetime budget as the flight budget and the campaign dates as the flight length.
